Khandala Hill Station

Khandala is a tiny hill station but it oozes biggest charms ever. It acts as an ideal getaway for the locals of Mumbai who visit here to spend some time away from bumper to bumper traffic. Celebrity Wax Museum

Celebrity Wax Museum is a replica of the Madam Tussad’s Museum of London. The museum was established by a 40 year old wax artist. Visit here and explore real looking wax statues of popular celebrities, including actors, politicians and social activists. Some of the most popular wax statues of the museum include Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi, M.K Gandhi, Hitler and Michael Jackson.


Rajmachi Fort

Located in the middle of Lonavala and Khandala, Rajmachi fort is a prominent landmark offering a melange of nature and history. The fort is adorned with creative sculptures, carved pillars, beautiful paintings and water compounds. As the fort is built on the summit of Western Ghats, it promises magnificent views around it.


Lohagad Fort

Situated at a height of 3400 feet, Lohagad Fort is perched atop a hill which makes it look even more impressive. The fort was constructed in the 18th century and remains popular among trekkers as well as nature lovers. In the past, many dynasties like Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Yadavas, Bahamanis, Nizams, etc. ruled here. Thus, it carries some significant traces of history with it. The fort features four entrances - Ganesh Darwaja, Narayan Darwaja, Hanuma Darwaja and Maha Darwaja, and houses some beautiful sculptures.


Kune Waterfalls

This cascading waterfall is the 14th highest in India. This three tiered waterfall falls from a height of 200m. It makes a great picnic spot and tourists can be seen enjoying swimming and bathing here.


Bhaja Caves

Bhaja Caves are loved by every history lover visiting Khandala. These were constructed during the 2nd century B.C and comprise 20 rock cut Buddhist caves in number. Being surrounded by the Arabian Sea on their eastern side and the Deccan plateau on the west, the caves enjoy a beautiful surrounding. ?Bhaja Caves are impressive caretakers of architectural brilliance of Buddhist art and their interiors feature many rock carvings, paintings and unusual sculptures.

By Air: The nearest airport to Khandala is the Lohegaon Airport in Pune which is about 64 kilometres away.

By Road: Khandala has its own railway station and many south bound trains from Mumbai halt here.

By Road: A drive to Khandala bestows great pleasure due to scenic roads. State run and private buses are available too.
