This two day festival promises loads of fun and frolic where numerous folk and classical music performances can be relished. ?The festival is celebrated during Buddha Poornima every year. It is a great event that brings out the warmth and cheerfulness of the locals here.
The Summer Festival starts with singing of a ballad followed by traditional dance performances which lure the heart of all visitors. Spectators also enjoy exciting boat race at the beautiful Nakki Lake which remains a major highlight of the festival.
A grand ceremonial procession is carried out during the festival which begins from the RTDC Hotel Shikhar. Some of the most heart pleasing attractions of the Summer Festival include Skating Race, skater's Show, CRPF Band Show, Boat Race, Horse Race, Tug of War, and much more.
Music lovers can take pleasure of the breathtaking show Sham-e-Qawwali where world renowned qawwals participate and fill the atmosphere with their melodies. ?The festivities of the Summer Festival end with grand fireworks which make the sky of this hill station look splendid.
